The Lions placed 3rd again this week at Goshen HS, but in the IHSAA Regional. We passed Concord, who had beat us at sectional, but finished 5 points behind Sectional champion Warsaw and 25 points behind Sectional champion Penn. It was a great night with 2 record setting performances by the Lions. Max Huckleberry, Jackson Ezzell, Otto Richter, and Maxwell Malloy ran a 7:55.9 in the 4 x 800 Relay to win the Regional and set the new meet record! The 4 x 100 Relay of Zach Anderson, Anthony Leonard, Alfonzo Newsome, and Nathan Munson placed 2nd, but set a new school record with a 41.4! Those teams will have a good chance to Podium at state next week. Individually, Max Malloy advanced in the 1600 with a 2nd place finish and placed 4th in the 3200. Nathan Munson and Zach Anderson placed 3rd and 4th in the 100 m dash, respectively, and both advanced by running the state qualifying standard. Trinton Harris placed 3rd in the LJ to advance to state and placed 7th in high Jump. Connor Thomas threw a career best 150' in the discus and placed 8th. Trenton Bias threw 153' and placed 5th in the discus. Otto Richter placed 3rd in the 3200 m run and advanced to state. The boys who advanced will compete at IU on Saturday, 6/1, at the state track & field meet.
